The Highlights of your “IMAGES OF JAPAN”
photography experience

Tokyo is Japan’s busy capital and mixes the ultramodern and the traditional, from neon-lit avant-garde skyscrapers to historic temples. Capture the spirit of Tokyo at its famed Tsukiji Fish Market and its variety of neon-lit and classical streetscapes.

Nikko is a small city in Japan’s Tochigi Prefecture, in the mountains north of Tokyo. It’s the site of Toshogu, the famed Shinto shrine established in 1617 as a lavish memorial for Tokugawa Ieyasu, founding ruler of the Tokugawa shogunate during the Edo Period. The shrine comprises the gilded Yomeimon Gate, the main sanctuary set in a cedar grove and the tomb itself. Nikko is well known for its beautiful Autumn colours and National Park with scenic mountainous landscapes, lakes, waterfalls, hot springs, hiking trails and wild monkeys.

Atami is a seaside city on Japan’s Izu Peninsula, in the Shizuoka Prefecture southwest of Tokyo. It’s set on volcanic hills within the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, which is also home to Mount Fuji. A prominent resort town for centuries due to its numerous natural hot springs, which we will experience during our stay at our own traditional resort

Takayama is a city in Japan’s mountainous Gifu Prefecture. It gained importance as a source of high quality timber and highly skilled carpenters during the feudal ages when it was known as Hida.
The narrow streets of its Sanmachi Suji historic district are lined with wooden merchants’ houses dating to the Edo Period, along with many small museums. The city is famed for its biannual Takayama Festival, going back to at least the mid-1600s, celebrating fall with parades featuring ornate, gilded floats and puppet shows.

Shirakawa is a village located in Ōno District, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. It is best known for being the site of Shirakawa-gō, a picturesque traditional village with distinctive rustic architecture set amongst a patchwork of rice fields

Kyoto, the ancient capital city, is the root of the traditional Japanese aesthetic. It’s famous for its numerous classical Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, imperial palaces, traditional wooden houses and World famous Japanese gardens.

Besides its many World heritage sites,  it’s also known for formal traditions such as the Japanese Tea Ceremony, Kaiser degustation dining and the iconic Geisha of Gion district who will feature at our tour’s farewell dinner.

World Heritage sites: Nikko, Toshogu, Shirakawa Go, Kinkaku Temple (Golden Pavillion) Kiyomizu Temple.
Cultural activities : Tea ceremony, Maiko, (Geisha) sake brewery visit, traditional regional cuisines.
Nature: Waterfalls, rivers, moss forest, mountains, hot springs
Neon cityscapes & People: Tokyo, Kyoto
